Quote of the Week
A Word from DistinXion
Weekly Devotional
When you are true to what you can and cannot do, it makes your potential that much higher. You won’t be great at everything. Instead, be sure that you are realistic and working on your strengths, acknowledging their current power. He will be with you in your journey.“...Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ's
power may reside in me.” - 2 Corinthians 12:9
Question 1
Have you ever done too much in a game or practice? If so, why was that?
Question 2
What is one aspect of your life you know is a weakness? In basketball? Are you realistic with
yourself and your coach/teammates when it comes to this weakness?
yourself and your coach/teammates when it comes to this weakness?
Drill of the Week
Game-like Post & Pop Series
At Dr. Dish Basketball we've taken a lot pride in developing our swivel net technology on our Dr. Dish All-Star machine which allows for game location passing. We always preach that your training should reflect game scenarios and the swivel net allows players to simulate game situations. Click the photo below to see the drill of the week!

Work Together
Working together benefits all of our programs and makes things so much easier for our athletes. Coordinating your schedule to encourage this makes things so much easier for your athletes. They do not feel pulled in two or three different directions. Parents are appreciative too, especially when they have to coordinate rides. Dropping their son/daughter off one time instead of making three trips to the school throughout the day makes their lives so much easier. Your athletes will benefit too when they see members of all of the coaching staffs in the weight room working in unison. There is no doubt that the camaraderie created in the weight room during these training sessions encourages players to support one another and builds an overall sense of pride for all of our athletic teams.
I am reminded of how important 1 Corinthians 1:10 is. “I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.”
While Paul was talking about divisions in the church and its ministry, the same applies when you are working as coaches to build your programs. Many times we share athletes, and encouraging them to work together instead of competing for their time can only help us in building our teams. So, as you begin your summer training sessions, remember that working together will only help you in meeting your goals for your team in the realm of strength and conditioning programs.

He Chose Me
READY
““I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life.” - John 5:24 (NIV)
Have you ever experienced a critical game situation in which your coach said, “We are going to win the game on this possession.” Maybe your basketball coach saw a mismatch in the post or your football coach was confident that a post pattern would score a touchdown. And, sure enough, your team runs the play, and the coach’s call works exactly as planned. Most likely, your coach knew that the play was going to work for that moment. It wasn’t for later in the game or even later in the season, but for that exact time and situation. Each player left the huddle with the utmost belief that it was going to work. According to the coach, the timing was perfect. They think, “Coach said it’s going to work, so it HAS to work.” Just as the players believe totally in their coach at those crucial moments, as Christians, we also need to believe totally in the plans of God, our Master Coach. He has given us a game plan in His Word that is perfect for our lives. In Scripture, Jesus tells us that whoever believes in Him has eternal life. That’s right! Jesus used the word HAS. The timing is perfect, and it is now. Our greatest Coach, says the play will work, so it HAS to work. And it will work now, in this moment, just like it will forever! Today let’s get on our knees and thank God for our great opportunity of the eternal life that stems from a present, living faith. This great hope is not something to be saved for later this month or even later next year. It can be now! All you need to do is run the play and you are guaranteed eternal victory through Christ!SET
GO
1. Can you recall a specific play your coach called that worked with great precision?
2. Are you waiting to run the play of God’s salvation later in life? Why wait when you could surrender to Him now and receive His gift of eternal life?
3. Have you taken the time to talk to God and thank Him for the marvelous opportunity of eternal life?
