A Word from DistinXion
Team Camp Dates
Coaches,
My name is Sean Schaefer and I am overseeing the DistinXion Team Development Camps for 2018.
I am reaching out today to inform you that registration for DistinXion Team Development Camps is now available! The DistinXion Team Development Camp Xperience is not your typical team camp. Our camp focuses on the fundamental development of both the individual and the team.
I have linked to the Team Development Camp Flyer below. I have also linked to a PDF file of our Registration Form.
As a reminder, both your Varsity and Junior Varsity teams will be attending camp for free. You also have the opportunity to run your own concessions if you wish.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me or daltonjudd@distinxion.org. From everybody at DistinXion, we thank you for taking on the role of hosting our camp. The use of your facilities is crucial to the enactment of our camps. We appreciate your help!

Use your truths and truthfulness to help others. Your love to others can be exhibited by the respect you have for them, and telling them the full truth. Your peers will think more of you with the idea that you are a truthful, respectful teammate.“By obedience to the truth, having purified yourselves for sincere love of the brothers, love one another earnestly from a pure heart.” - 1 Peter 1:22
Question 1
How can you establish with your truths that you are a good teammate?
Question 2
Think of an example of when you have proven to someone your integrity through truths. Describe
what you did.
what you did.
Drill of the Week
Post Skip Pass Into Flash & Finish
We at the HBCA love the Dish and our partnership with them. One of the fantastic things that it can do for you is it’s ability to help you run drills for players away from the basket, just like this great post drill.

Billy Graham's Biggest Regrets as a Parent
While we all spend a significant portion of our time away from home and away from our kids as we pursue our coaching careers, here are four tips for you to engage in, which will hopefully maximize your time with them when you are present.
1. Reading Habitually to Your Kids
2. Teaching Life Skills
3. Taking Annual Vacations
4. Consider What Your Really Want
I love reading to my kids. It is a great way to connect with them and the best part is they have your complete focus during this time with them.
Just the other day as I fixed my leaf blower I commented to my wife that I am glad that my dad taught me to do simple things like that, which are not so simple for others. She reminded me to make sure that I am passing those skills along to our boys.
Taking trips and vacations is something that I’ve always enjoyed. It is often times the things that go wrong which give us the greatest moments and memories. You don’t have to spend your life savings in order to have a great time, it can be a real quick trip to the state park, but find ways to make memories with your kids.
Finally, as Rev. Graham discussed, how do you want to be remembered? What is it that you are doing that will make lasting impacts on your kids. What is it that you really want for your children. You can spend hours away from them pursuing things of this world, but at the end of the day, how do you want them to remember you?
I urge you all to consider subscribing to All-Pro Dad newsletter, follow them on social media, etc. This initiative started by Tony Dungy is a great resource for you to keep perspective and to focus on the things that really matter as a father, husband, and coach.

He Chose Me
READY
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you. I appointed you that you should go out and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.” — John 15:16
I was in my second year of high school when Turk walked into the wrestling room. I did not have any idea who he was, but he didn’t look very impressive: short, round, bald, about fifty years old, and smoking a cigar. I inwardly laughed when my wrestling coach told me that he wanted me to wrestle this aged man. I thought I would have to be careful not to hurt the old fellow. We lined up on the wrestling mat, and I went to reach for him. I don’t remember much after that, except in the next moment I was flying. I was airborne. Flying through a haze of cigar smoke was mildly exhilarating, but that was tempered by my awareness that I had to land some time. Turns out this dried-up old man had wrestled in the Olympics twice.SET
Our entire team benefited from his wealth of knowledge and expertise. He showed us moves and techniques in wrestling that none of us had heard before, and, as a result, we won some big matches and a few tournaments. But Turk gave us the greatest gift by simply standing in our corner during our matches. When we faced foes who were stronger or more experienced, we could look over and see a world champion wrestler who had taught us that we could win.
Jesus Christ has personally picked you to be a part of His team, and He is standing in your corner. The foe you face is stronger and more experienced than you, yet the ultimate Champion is willing to impart His friendship, guidance, and strength. We will win because Jesus is a champion.
